The St Germans Community Shop is a Community Benefit Society and exists for the benefit of the residents of the St Germans area. Every year, if we make enough profit, we are able to give grants to organisations or individuals for projects and activities that benefit the community.
The criteria for the award of a grant are:
• Activities that bring people together and help combat social isolation (examples would be supporting
preschool children, voluntary organisations such as brownies, recreational activities for older children,
families and all other residents of the village)
• Projects that provide access to volunteering opportunities in St Germans.
• Projects and activities that support the most vulnerable members of St Germans.
Many thanks to all of our volunteers who give their time to work in the shop and post office and our regular
customers, we wouldn’t be able to make this money available without them.
We would love you to spread the word, please tell people where the grant money came from and encourage people
to use the village shop to enable us to continue to make these grants in the future. The volunteers would like to hear
how you have spent the money and have their voluntary work acknowledged in any newsletters or articles. We are
collecting information about how you spent last year’s grant so that we can show how the shop benefits all the
residents of St Germans.
We are sorry but we cannot fund running costs (examples would be rent, utilities, insurance etc) or replace money
that has already been spent.
Please send the completed form to stgermans-shop@outlook.com or hand the form into the shop in a sealed
envelope marked, FAO Neville Seed by Friday 19th December 2025.
